De hardware is vernieuwd met onder andere een nieuwe processor en twee keer zoveel werkgeheugen. De camera heeft nu 12 megapixels in plaats van 8 megapixels en je kunt filmen in 4K. Het aluminium heeft ook een upgrade gehad zodat de iPhone wat sterker is. Het grote verschil is natuurlijk de grootte maar ook de camera is iets anders.
